A Night + Day With Father Greg

This month, we had the incredible honor of welcoming Father Greg Boyle and Jose Arellano from Homeboy Industries to The Neighborhood Village. Their visit brought powerful stories of transformation, healing, and the kind of belonging that reaches the hearts of those who have often felt left out.

It was a beautiful evening filled with meaningful conversation, reflection, and, of course, delicious eats! Neighbors and staff came together to hear how Father Greg and Jose have helped create space for dignity and second chances—and how their work resonates so deeply with what we strive for here at Salt + Light.

The next morning, our team and neighbors had the special opportunity to share breakfast burritos and connect one-on-one with Father Greg and Jose. The conversations were real, personal, and deeply moving—filled with laughter, stories, and mutual respect.

Moments like these remind us how powerful it is when like-minded hearts make the effort to visit, see, and affirm what’s being built here. It’s an inspiration to witness others reducing the margins and lifting up those who have too often been forgotten. Together, we are creating a world where everyone belongs.
