Sometimes All You Need is a Chance
Fo spent the last eight years without a place to call home, three of those years living in a tent at the Tulare CARES Encampment. When we first met, she was hesitant, over time, we built trust, and that trust opened the door to new possibilities. Fo began connecting with mental health services, going to doctor’s appointments, and slowly taking steps toward stability.
This year, everything changed. Fo moved into her very own home. At first, she couldn’t believe it was real. She was so overcome with joy that she literally rolled across the floor, just happy to finally have a floor of her own. Today, Fo is thriving. She has settled in, grown so much, and is happier than ever. Her dog, Cuda, is just as grateful to finally be inside a home, safe and comfortable by her side.
Fo’s journey is a reminder of the power of trust, perseverance, and hope, and the incredible things that can happen when someone is given the chance to thrive.
