Sarah Knox
Care Support Specialist
As a Care Support Specialist, Sarah walks alongside neighbors with dignity, compassion, and radical hospitality. Each day, she helps connect individuals and families to vital resources, fosters belonging, and reminds every person of their inherent worth. For Sarah, being part of Salt + Light feels like a dream come true. “Working in a place that upholds the dignity and value of every person is such an honor,” she shares. “Engaging with our neighbors has brought me immense joy, and the kindness of the staff has made me feel like a true member of the family.”
Before joining Salt + Light, Sarah earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Worship Ministries from Point Loma Nazarene University. She began her career as a social worker in child welfare and later supported families and individuals experiencing homelessness and job loss. These experiences deepened her heart for walking alongside people in crisis and helping them find stability. Active in her church and community, Sarah has also led youth camps and service projects—experiences that strengthened her leadership and program development skills and ultimately guided her to this work.
Outside of Salt + Light, Sarah loves spending time with her husband, their daughter, and their golden retriever, Woodi. Together, they enjoy exploring local parks and coffee shops. She also serves as a drummer on her church’s worship team, finding joy in using her gifts to be part of something bigger than herself. A little league baseball and softball coach, Sarah can often be found on the sidelines cheering others on—and hopes her daughter will one day take up the sport, too. She believes everyone has a unique purpose and talent inside of them and loves encouraging others to live that out. And like a true Swiftie, Sarah embraces all her “eras,” especially the chaotic ones.
