Lucy Garcia, Salt + Light’s Development and Neighbor Care Liaison, brings a unique blend of skills and heartfelt dedication to her role. Originally from Mexico and now living in California’s Central Valley, Lucy holds a Bachelor’s Degree from UC Riverside. In her position, she serves as a crucial link between Salt + Light’s Development and Neighbor Care teams, helping to bridge communication and support for neighbors facing life’s hardships.
Outside of her professional life, Lucy is deeply committed to her family. She homeschools her three daughters and plays an active role in managing two family businesses. Alongside her husband, their household includes a beloved dog, Loki, and a cat named Lana. Lucy’s love for community extends beyond the workplace, as she is passionate about fostering connections and offering radical hospitality to neighbors in need.
Lucy’s decision to join Salt + Light stems from her desire to be part of an organization that aligns with her values. She believes in creating a community that meets tangible needs with love and compassion, and Salt + Light allows her to do just that. “I love the idea of radically offering hospitality to our neighbors experiencing hardships. Salt + Light aligns with my passion for service and my heart for creating a caring, supportive community.”
In her free time, Lucy enjoys sewing, writing, and crafting with her daughters, finding joy in simple, creative moments. A fun fact about her is that she once had an unexpected encounter with Justin Timberlake at a gas station! Her favorite food is her mom’s cooking, and she enjoys sipping on Agita De Kefir. Her favorite movie is Gone With The Wind.
