Ren Burley | Community Cultivator
Ren Burley from Tulare, lives in Visalia and is Salt + Light’s Community Cultivator. Ren spends her time building and nurturing relationships with volunteers, neighbors, community partners, and organizing all community drives. She is a shining light of JOY in the office! Ren holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a big heart for others and a particular soft spot for her doggy, Matilda. In her free time, Ren writes and performs her own music.
When asked why Ren is at Salt + Light, she says, “I am passionate about people, community, and filling a gap in society. I believe it is important to acknowledge how personal troubles are caused by social issues. I want to directly work toward reframing and restructuring systems that contribute to social issues like neighbors experiencing homelessness. I love that Salt + Light seeks to understand the "why" and leads with their hearts. Everyone genuinely cares about each other.”
Fun fact: I can solve a Rubik’s cube
Food: Pasta with lots of cheese or an Armenian dish called Yalanchi (grape leaves stuffed with rice)
